Decorate your Bedroom on a Budget
Make Fun Room Art with Paper Plates
Hang with a push pin on your bedroom door or wall. Make them at a slumber party or for your sister or best friend. Include fun photos of yourselves or special mementos.
Materials
Large and small stickers
Wall-Art decals
Small paper plates, in variety of colors
Magic black marker
Alphabet stickers
Puff paints or puff glue
Wide ribbon-(2-3 inch wide) 3 yards long for each
Butterflies either plastic or sticker
Fun photos if desired
Choose the type and number of plates you want to use. Lay them out on the table or floor, so you can see what they look like together. Here we choose a flowered plate to glue on top of a pink one in an alternate pattern.
Then, cut out the letters and pictures of the stickers you want to use but don’t peel and stick them yet, in case you want to change them around. Arrange them on the plates.
On the top plate, use the alphabet stickers and spell your name. Then decorate around it with stickers or glitter glue.
On the next plate, write what your name means or write a Bible verse and decorate the plate.
Use large stickers that are sold for Wall Art to put in the middle of the next plate.
Or draw a special word in glitter paint.Roll out the ribbon and lay the plates on top of it in the order. Leave about 2 inches in between each plate and 4 extra inches on top.
Then with a hot glue gun, apply a couple of lines of glue right in the middle of the BACK of the plate. Be careful, it’s hot! (Have a parent supervise) Then flip the plate over and attach it to the ribbon. We used the glue bottle to press it firmly in place because it was hot. Do this with all the plates.
Tie a bow with the extra ribbon and attach it above the top plate on the ribbon with hot glue.

Make other leaves for fun fall things like: apple picking, bonfires, hayrides, hot apple cider, and Thanksgiving Day.

Hang the poster on your door or wall to remind you of all the fun things you have to look forward to during the back-to-school season.
Make Jello as instructed on the box
Place 6 plastic cups in a larger Tupperware container for easy transport to freezer
Ladle the Jello into the plastic cups
Let chill for about 2 hours in freezer
While you are waiting you can unroll the fruit roll ups and cut them into a tiny towel size piece for the teddy grams to float on
You can use a paper plate and the plastic from the roll-up so they don’t stick.
Use colored decorator’s frosting in the tube to apply sunglasses to bears
Lay the bears on their water mattress and set them on the Jello after the Jello is firm
Put up the umbrellas and place over the bears
It might be fun to add different gummy shapes to the Jello after about an hour in the freezer.
Maybe some gummy fish or sharks! Letting the Jello firm up a little will keep them from falling to the bottom.

Make a Tea Hat!
This adorable hat only cost me $4.50. Visit your local dollar or craft store and purchase:
1 hat
1 bunch of flowers in matching colors1 bolt of ribbon in matching color-5 yds
1 1/2 yds of tool in matching color
Roll or fold tool until it is about 2 inches wide,
then twist it around like you were wringing out a washcloth.Keep it tightly twisted.
With your hot glue gun dot glue all around the the base of the hat.
Twirl the tool around the hat, ending with a cute little veil that hangs down in the back.
Secure the two sides together with a large safety pin, underneath so it doesn't show.
Untwist the veil part so it drapes nicely.
With a wire cutter, cut the flower bunch into single branches and hot glue them around the brim. Tuck a few branches in the tool. Save any extra green leaves for the next step.
Take the ribbon and follow the directions on the link below on how to make easy ribbon roses. It's really fun and easy for kids to do!
Slip some dots of hot glue inside and on the back to hold the roses together.
Hot glue the roses inside of the leaves that were left over from the flower bush and glue them onto the brim of the hat.
You could also make a double bow out of the ribbon and glue it onto the back where the tool is.
This is also a great Anne of Green Gables Sleepover Craft. BUT...
As always, supervise children with a hot glue gun. Never use your fingers to press something together. I use a Popsicle stick.:)
