By Make and Google: Building tinkering and exploring! July 6-August 14th Join young inventors and artists from around the world in their Maker Camp Google Community to make awesome projects, go on epic virtual “field trips,” and meet the world’s coolest makers. Maker Camp packs six weeks with fun projects and videos.
Visit your local Apple store for a field trip or Apple Camp experience where kids learn how to create movies or create animated stories. Space is limited for these three-day workshops designed for kids ages 8 to 12 so sign up soon!
Microsoft YouthSpark is committed to helping young people capture opportunity. They have programs to learn skills, to prepare for the jobs of the future, even to start your own business. Kids can learn game coding, game design and develop mobile games, movie making using Windows Phone and Surface Pro, or photography with a phone. This is incredible for high schoolers and kids of all ages!
Stop by Home Depot on the first Saturday of each month for a free kids workshop ages 5 to 12. All kid get to keep their craft, receive a FREE certificate of achievement, a Workshop Apron, and a commemorative pin while supplies last!
Lowe'sIf your child likes to build with wood then Build and Grow Clinics are free to the public and occur select Saturdays at 10am. Each child receives an apron, goggles, patch and more.
Michael's offers awesome projects for kids and adults of all ages. Dates and times vary, but projects have included things like making a tie-dye t-shirt for Father's Day (with purchase of shirt), making a Fourth of July wreath, and intro to jewelry making.
