This adorable hat only cost me $4.50! Visit your local dollar or craft store and purchase:

Materials

*1 hat

*1 bunch of flowers in matching colors

*1 bolt of ribbon in matching color

*5 yds1 1/2 yds of tool in matching color

homeschool resources

Directions

Roll or fold tool until it is about 2 inches wide, then twist it around like you were wringing out a washcloth.

Keep it tightly twisted.

With your hot glue gun dot glue all around the the base of the hat.

Twirl the tool around the hat, ending with a cute little veil that hangs down in the back.

Secure the two sides together with a large safety pin, underneath so it doesn't show.

Untwist the veil part so it drapes nicely.

With a wire cutter, cut the flower bunch into single branches and hot glue them around the brim. Tuck a few branches in the tool. Save any extra green leaves for the next step.

Take the ribbon and follow the directions on the link below on how to make easy ribbon roses. It's really fun and easy for kids to do!

Slip some dots of hot glue inside and on the back to hold the roses together.

Hot glue the roses inside of the leaves that were left over from the flower bush and glue them onto the brim of the hat.

You could also make a double bow out of the ribbon and glue it onto the back where the tool is.

This is also a great Anne of Green Gables Sleepover Craft. BUT...

As always, supervise children with a hot glue gun. Never use your fingers to press something together. I use a Popsicle stick. :)

Choose the type and number of plates you want to use. Lay them out on the table or floor, so you can see what they look like together. Here we choose a flowered plate to glue on top of a pink one in an alternate pattern.

Then, cut out the letters and pictures of the stickers you want to use but don’t peel and stick them yet, in case you want to change them around. Arrange them on the plates.

Then with a hot glue gun, apply a couple of lines of glue right in the middle of the BACK of the plate. Be careful, it’s hot! (Have a parent supervise) Then flip the plate over and attach it to the ribbon. We used the glue bottle to press it firmly in place because it was hot. Do this with all the plates.

Tie a bow with the extra ribbon and attach it above the top plate on the ribbon with hot glue.
